A Twitter user asked Pete Hines the key person of the Bethesda Softworks why gamers can’t move their save data files from the The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to the new, upcoming The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition.
According to the answer because the game will be a brand new one (specially on console) you can’t move the save data files on the PlayStation 4 / Xbox One version TES games BUT on PC (in theory) you just simple have to copy and paste your save folder from the original TES game to the new Special Edition.
The new Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition release in all regions on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2016 October with new fields, features and 4K support. Stay tuned for more information!
@Toxikcorp it is a new game on consoles. on PC you could manually copy files to a new folder, which in theory should work.
